We get a lot of calls this time of year from people who need firewood but aren’t sure what to order or how much. Here’s a straightforward rundown of how our firewood delivery works, what your options are, and what you actually need to know before you call.
What We Deliver
We sell seasoned hardwood firewood — mostly oak and other local hardwoods that burn hot and long. Everything we deliver has had time to dry properly, which matters more than people realize. Green wood is hard to light, smokes more, and doesn’t produce the heat that seasoned wood does. We’ve been processing firewood long enough — with three Halverson processors and four Timberwolf machines running — to know the difference.
Load Sizes
We offer a few options depending on how much you need:
Full load — our most popular option for people who heat primarily with wood or want to stock up for the season. Comes delivered by truck.
Half load — a good middle ground if you use a wood stove or fireplace regularly but don’t go through a full cord quickly.
Big Bag — roughly a pickup truck load, good for moderate use or topping off what you have.
Small Bag — nine cubic feet, good if you just need enough for a few weeks or want to try our wood before ordering more.
If you’re not sure what size to get, just call us and describe how you use your fireplace or stove. We can usually point you in the right direction in a couple of minutes.
Delivery Area
We deliver to Lynchburg, Bedford, Amherst, Campbell, Appomattox, and Nelson Counties. We’re based in Big Island, which puts us close to most of the properties we serve. If you’re not sure whether we come to your area, give us a call — we can usually tell you quickly.
Pick Up Option
If you’d rather not wait for a delivery date, we have a self-serve firewood stand at our shop on Bell Hill Road in Big Island. You can come out and pick up smaller quantities on your own schedule. It’s a good option if you need something quick or just want to grab a small amount.
How to Order
Call the office or use the request form on our website. When you reach out, have a sense of what size load you want and a general idea of when you need it. We’ll confirm availability, give you pricing, and set a delivery date.
